During the period from 2013 to 2016, MEMCC's operations gradually transitioned to Partners for Micro Credit. In 2017, the two companies separated, with MEMCC returning to Global Communities to engage in non-profit projects, while Partners for Micro Credit continued its operations under the trade name Vitas Jordan. We remain steadfast in serving our clients and making a positive difference in their lives.
In 2013, Vitas Jordan was created as a For-Profit company operating under Vitas Group. Concurrently, Partners for Micro Credit was formed to collaborate with MEMCC under the trade name Vitas Jordan. Driven by passion and talent, our sole mission remains to enhance the lives of individuals and small enterprises within our operating communities. We strive to facilitate access to the financial services they need to thrive.
In 2011, the Vitas Group was launched as a subsidiary of Global Communities. Our mission was clear: to meet the financial needs of our customers and empower them to unlock their full potential, thus making positive contributions to their communities. To strengthen our long-term impact on families, businesses, and communities, Global Communities established Vitas Group as a commercial holding company dedicated to providing essential financial services.
In January 2003, we solidified our identity as the Middle East Micro Credit Company (MEMCC) when we registered as a Limited Liability Non-Profit Company. This marked an important milestone in our journey toward making a significant impact on the lives of individuals and businesses in Jordan.
In 1998, Vitas Jordan's journey began with the signing of a Cooperative Agreement between Global Communities (formerly CHF International) and USAID. This agreement paved the way for the establishment of the Southern Jordan Access to Credit Project (SJACP), a response to the pressing needs of the local community. Our primary objective was to provide microfinance lending services to the residents of the Southern Governorates of Jordan over a period of five years. Additionally, we aimed to build interactive capacities with formal financial institutions through risk-sharing partnerships with commercial banks, aligning with our core social responsibility.
